Sensei Brian
Wise proudly holds the degree of Renshi, 4th Dan, from the Grand Patriarch of
all American Gojudo, Maestro Peter G. Urban, Ph.D.
Sensei Wise started training in
the Martial arts in New York, early 1985, he then relocated to Florida in 1987
where he was introduced to Sensei Price through a friend. In 1988 Sensei Wise
began his Goju training (along with a small group of select students) at Sensei
Price's private Dojo. When Sensei Price opened the Fort Myers Bamboo
Curtain Dojo in 1991, Sensei Wise continued to train in that dojo as well as
assist in instructing the adult and children's classes too.
Sensei
Wise has had extensive training in hand to hand combat as well as knife and gun
defense. His weapons expertise includes the Escrima, Bo, Jo, Sai, and
Nunchaku. He is currently studying Iai-do and Iai-jutsu of the Japanese
sword. In June
1997 Sensei Wise was presented with the name "The Oak Tree" by
Grand-Master Urban, and upon his promotion in April 2002, Maestro Urban assigned
Sensei Wise the Goju Fight School Network Hall No. 807.
In
September, 2001 Sensei Wise was accepted as a Training Officer in the USPDTA, (United States Police Defensive Tactics Association),
where he is a Mounted Bicycle and Police Tactics Trainer. His duties also
include training civilians in Control of Occupational Violence (COV) and
Travel Survival Skills (TSS) programs. (http://www.uspdta.com/)
